AECC and innovative new business team up to beat queues

Aberdeen Exhibition and Conference Centre (AECC) have joined forces with local start-up EBar Initiatives to help the new business gain knowledge of gig goers purchasing behaviours at gigs.

EBar Initiatives, formed by MBA graduates from Robert Gordon University, are developing a self-service drink dispenser which aims to provide a perfect pint in under three seconds. The innovative business, currently engaged in Elevator’s Accelerator Programme, aims to banish long queues and speed up service at large events.

As part of AECC’s strategy of supporting local businesses and aligned with their goal to maximise the customer experience, EBar has been invited to the GE Oil & Gas Arena next week when Scottish rockers, Biffy Clyro visit the city. EBar will be conducting short customer surveys that will offer an insight in to the impact of queues on customers’ event experience.

EBar Initiatives co-founder Nick Beeson said: “Our business is all about eliminating bar queues. We look forward to talking with Biffy fans next week and working with AECC in the future to achieve our shared goal of helping fans have a truly great event experience.”

AECC interim managing director, Graeme Cumming, said: “At AECC, we are always working to improve the visitor experience and it’s great to open our doors to a new, local company at the beginning of their journey. Ebar will gain access to first-hand knowledge from gig goers on the night which will hopefully give them a valuable insight in to the large events industry.”
