Add Energy Secures Queen’s Award For Enterprise

Add Energy’s Asset and Integrity Management (AIM) division has been awarded one of the most prestigious business awards in the UK, it was announced today Tuesday, 23 April 2019.

The Aberdeen-based company will be presented with a Queen’s Award for Enterprise at a ceremony at Buckingham Palace in the spring. The accolade is in recognition of achieving outstanding short-term growth in overseas sales over the last three years.

Peter Adam, executive vice president of Add Energy AIM, said: “We are truly honoured to have been recognised in this way. There are few greater accolades for a UK business than the Queen’s Award.

“The expertise and products that we offer are ideally suited to unlocking value for energy firms and it’s a testament to the hard work and dedication of our team that we have been able to achieve this level of international growth, given the challenges faced by the oil and gas sector during that time. We look forward to working in partnership with our clients around the globe to continue to build on this momentum.”

Add Energy is just one of 201 companies throughout the UK to be recognised this year, with eight businesses in Scotland gaining recognition in the International Trade and Innovation categories.

UK Government Business Secretary Greg Clark said: “These prestigious awards help shine a light on all that is great about UK business today. I am extremely impressed to see such a wealth of talent and innovation from across the UK being recognised today by Her Majesty The Queen.

“These awards recognise the innovative products and services being provided by British businesses that are in demand across the world, as well as the sheer determination and hard work that comes with starting and running a business.

“Many of these winners are small businesses - the backbone of our economy – and we are backing them to grow, increase their productivity and create more jobs and opportunity across the UK through our modern Industrial Strategy.”

Between 2016 and 2018 Add Energy’s AIM division has seen earnings rise from £1m to £12.4m – a total rise of more than 1000%. The majority of activity has been international in regions including North America, the Middle East, Australasia, west Africa and Europe. The company has continued its trajectory in 2019 having secured over £3.6M worth of new business in the first quarter this year alone.

The company, which employs 130 in its offices in Aberdeen, Houston and Muscat, provides consultancy and software solutions which optimise asset performance including Oil and Gas, Power Generation and Chemicals.

It is a division of Stavanger-headquartered Add Energy which provides consultancy and software solutions to the global energy sector.
