ACVO TSI hosts successful third sector engagement event at Aberdeen Arts Centre

The Your Place, Your Plans, Your Future Engagement Event, hosted by ACVO TSI at the Aberdeen Arts Centre, brought together a fantastic turnout of third sector and community representatives to share their views on the future of Aberdeen.

The event formed part of Community Planning Aberdeen’s ongoing engagement initiative, which invites residents to shape the city’s future by participating in a broad ranging survey which looks to gather feedback on future plans. 

The lively and interactive session utilised the Place Standard Tool, enabling participants to evaluate their communities based on themes such as housing, health, and local development. 

By offering a platform for the third sector to amplify the voices of those they support, the event ensured that a diverse range of views were heard, including those from communities that are often underrepresented.

Susan Morrison, development officer (Community Planning Partnership) at ACVO TSI, coordinated the event and expressed her delight at the turnout

Susan said: "It’s been wonderful to see so many people engage with the event today. The energy and passion in the room reflect how important it is for Aberdeen’s residents to have a say in shaping the future of their communities.

"This event is just the start, and we encourage everyone to continue to share their views through the online survey."

The event’s success highlights the importance of collaborative efforts in community planning, ensuring that local people are at the heart of decisions that affect them. For those who missed the event, the Your Place, Your Plans, Your Future survey is still open until May 18th, 2025. Residents can participate online or at various drop in events across the city over the coming weeks.
