AberNecessities, a local children’s charity dedicated to supporting underprivileged children and families, is thrilled to announce its generous sponsors for the Believe in Magic Christmas campaign.

This year, Autosave Components, RockRose Energy (part of Viaro Group), Ithaca Energy, NRG Group, CNOOC, Petrasco, Boskalis Subsea Services, Petersons and Expro are partnering with AberNecessities to bring festive joy and essential support to thousands of local children and families in need.

The Believe in Magic campaign is a heartwarming initiative aimed at delivering Christmas Eve boxes and gifts to local children who might otherwise go without.

With one in four children in Aberdeen living in poverty, the campaign strives to bring much-needed festive cheer to families facing financial hardships. Through the unwavering support of local businesses, AberNecessities aims to make Christmas a little brighter for every child in the area.

Danielle Flecher-Horn, founder of AberNecessities, said: “The support we’ve received for the Believe in Magic campaign is hugely appreciated, especially as families face such challenging times.

"We encourage any local businesses that are looking to make a difference this Christmas to reach out to our team. Together, we can bring hope and joy to children who deserve nothing less than a magical Christmas.”

As many families face heightened financial strain this year, the prospect of providing even the most basic items - let alone gifts for Christmas - has become an overwhelming challenge.

Tragically, many children risk waking up on Christmas morning with no presents under the tree. Thanks to the incredible generosity of AberNecessities' partners, this campaign will deliver festive joy and create lasting memories for children who might otherwise miss out on the magic of the season.

Autosave Components is proud to support the Believe in Magic campaign, saying: “We appreciate the opportunity to support such a fantastic group who, in turn, support families throughout the year and by going that extra mile during the festive season to ensure as many children as possible can enjoy the magic of Christmas.”

Viaro expressed excitement for the initiative, with a representative saying: “The Viaro/RockRose team is proud to once again partner up with AberNecessities in support of such a worthy initiative.

"When we think of Christmas and the holiday season, we expect it to be a carefree time spent among loved ones, but sadly the reality is much different for many families who struggle to meet everyday financial responsibilities, let alone provide their children with the simple luxury of Christmas gifts.

"We are gratified and honoured to alleviate at least some of that strain and to make our own small contribution towards every child partaking in the holiday season magic.”

Ithaca Energy also offered its support, adding: “We are delighted to provide support to AberNecessities’ 'Believe in Magic' campaign.

"Beyond our Holiday Hero donation, teams from across Ithaca Energy have proudly committed their time to the winter campaign through volunteering at AberNecessities Christmas HQ and generously donating to the Giving Tree appeal.

"We share the charity’s vision of creating a brighter, warmer, and more magical season for local children and it is an honour to support their fantastic work in the community this Christmas.”

With the support of these generous sponsors, AberNecessities aims to bring some light into the lives of children and families facing hardships this holiday season. The Believe in Magic campaign serves as a reminder that, even in difficult times, the power of community spirit can bring joy, hope, and comfort to those who need it most.

AberNecessities warmly invites more local businesses and individuals to join as sponsors or donors for the Believe in Magic campaign.

This support can transform Christmas for a child facing hardship and provide families with a sense of hope and relief. Every contribution, whether big or small, makes a significant difference in the lives of those who need it most.
