Property, legal and financial firm, Aberdein Considine, has received a Princess Royal Training Award for its commitment to training and the positive impact this has on both its people and the organisation.
The firm was commended for its Mortgages Induction Programme – a tailored onboarding, training and development programme available to all new mortgage advisers and case managers.
Before the introduction of the programme learning mainly happened on the job and new starts took several months to get up to speed on processes, gain competency and start generating income for the business. These challenges led to the creation of a programme that covers onboarding, in-role support and ongoing development.
Employees who have taken part identified several benefits including being able to manage complicated cases, establishing team relationships that support their overall performance, and career development. The programme has also had a cumulative positive impact on the overall department performance and profitability.
Craig West, mortgage and protection advisor, Aberdein Considine, said: “My induction training with Aberdein Considine Mortgages was the best training I have ever had. It was well structured, informative and most importantly, tailored to my needs to ensure I was given the best possible chance of success in my new role.
“Starting a new role anywhere can be daunting, regardless of how experienced you are, so to have such a positive training experience really makes a difference.”
Now in its ninth year, the Princess Royal Training Awards attracted 127 applications with 52 receiving awards.
Applicants must meet a high standard of excellence and show exceptional training and development programmes. They are judged by a team of assessors, including Princes Royal Award alumni and world- leading learning and development experts. The Princess Royal also reviews every entry.
HRH Princess Royal will present Aberdein Considine with its award at a prestigious ceremony later this year.
Darren Polson, head of mortgage operations, Aberdein Considine, said: “We are proud to receive such a distinguished award. It’s a great accolade that demonstrates our unwavering commitment to training our people and the positive impact this has across the firm.
“Our Mortgages Induction Programme is another step on our journey to being an industry leader in training and ensuring long-term success in the areas of sales, services and compliance.
“50% of our team have now gone through the induction programme and they will continue to be supported with ongoing training and development.”
