Mike Naysmith - managing director, CALA Homes (North), has been appointed to the board of independent radio group Bauer Media’s Cash for Kids Charities (Scotland) replacing Aberdeen lawyer John Curran who joined the board in 2010.

The umbrella group manages ‘Cash For Kids’, the cause related marketing arm of Bauer Radio and their fundraising activities, which are distributed through 21 local radio stations across Scotland and England to disabled and disadvantaged children.

Local Scottish radio brands on the Bauer City Network include Edinburgh’s Forth One, Glasgow’s Clyde One, Inverness’s MFR Radio and Aberdeen’s Northsound 1 and in England includes the likes of Manchester’s Key 103, Liverpool’s Radio City, Newcastle’s Metro Radio and Sheffield’s Hallam FM.

Mike will continue to be an ambassador for the Aberdeen Northsound 1 Cash For Kids, working closely with the team to oversee the Scottish national cause while continuing to ensure funds raised by Bauer’s Scottish stations are distributed locally to children and their families.

Northsound’s Cash for Kids appeal aims to raise at least £700,000 this year, which is distributed throughout the Aberdeenshire area to deserving recipients.

Mike Naysmith said: “I have been a trustee of Northsound’s Cash For Kids since 2014 and have been able to see first-hand the difference a charity like this can make to the local community. Over the last two years the CALA team has got behind so many initiatives from Mission Christmas to the Bed Appeal.

“Joining the Scottish board of Cash for Kids means we can continue to support this incredible charity organisation which benefits the lives of so many children. We have been huge supporters from day one and look forward to playing an even bigger role in the coming weeks and months.”

Mike Naysmith is the driving force behind CALA Group’s office in the north of Scotland and has shaped the vision of the business with his detailed knowledge of the industry and local market. The company has a rich heritage in the region as it was where it all began for CALA in 1875 with the formation of the City of Aberdeen Land Association. With over 19 years’ experience in the building industry, Mike has ensured the CALA legacy continues to go from strength to strength.
