SIGNAL2NOISE, an Aberdeen digital media production company, is celebrating winning an award at the US International Film & Video Festival, for the second year in a row.
Acknowledging creative excellence in corporate video productions since 1967, this year’s 50th annual festival received over 1,000 entries from 29 countries.
Working with agency Denvir Marketing, SIGNAL2NOISE was commissioned to produce an engaging safety video for visitors and contractors to Plexus’ new facility in Aberdeen. The solution was Star Safety – a stylish 2D character animation that leads the audience on an up-beat journey to learn how to work safely at Plexus.
“Building induction videos can be deadly boring,” says SIGNAL2NOISE Producer Gavin Gilmour, “We took a more fun, personal approach that sought to entertain the audience while also communicating key safety messages.”
Suzanne George, chief executive at Denvir Marketing said; “After working with Plexus to rebrand the business, Star Safety felt like a natural evolution. A memorable animated safety video was a great way of communicating the brand personality to every visitor.”
Plexus was delighted with the video acknowledging the positive feedback from staff and visitors.
Charlotte Bowes, Plexus QHSE Manager said, “Visitors who regularly visit other client and supplier sites definitely felt that this was more engaging and they wanted to watch it fully unlike some other inductions. The feedback we are receiving is very positive.”
The SIGNAL2NOISE team have been creating HSE training films for 25 years. Senior Producer Jamie Baikie explains the company’s ethos for effective HSE training, “Industries around the world are recognising the importance of Health & Safety training yet too often they expect dull training videos to be effective. Today’s audience is sophisticated. Effective training must inspire as well as inform.”
