A second-year student from Robert Gordon University has been awarded the top prize for Financial Accounting Stage 2 of the BA (Hons) Accounting and Finance course at Robert Gordon University. Matthew Clark from Aberdeen achieved the highest overall combined score for both Financial Accounting stage 2 modules.
Leading audit, tax and consulting firm RSM UK sponsored the prize, marking Matthew’s achievement with a prizegiving ceremony at its offices in Aberdeen on Queens Road where RSM’s Andrew Forsyth awarded Matthew with a cheque for £500.
Matthew has also recently joined RSM to begin a year-long placement in the Accounting and Business Advisory team before starting his final year at university.
Andrew Forsyth, RSM’s office managing partner, said: ‘We love to support promising new students at grass roots level as they embark on their accounting career, which is why we partner with Robert Gordon University to support this award.
‘Matthew is clearly a gifted individual who has excelled in his recent financial accounting exams. We are looking forward to working with him on his placement and I’m sure he will be a great asset to our accounting and business advisory team.’
Matthew added: ‘It was great to receive this prize for a topic which is so relevant for a future career in accounting; and I look forward to using what I have learnt in practice on my placement year with RSM.’
