Guests of the city centre’s newest hotel are set to enjoy a restful night’s sleep on a completely bespoke mattress thanks to a partnership between Sandman Signature Aberdeen Hotel and Glencraft.
The hotel, which is due to open on St Andrew Street later this summer, has worked closely with the Aberdeen-based social enterprise to create a series of mattresses which are uniquely designed to offer the very best night’s sleep.
Aptly named ‘The Sandman’ after the mythical folklore character who is said to aid sleep and bring good dreams, the luxury mattresses are produced with natural materials and hand-finished – a process which has earned Glencraft a Royal Warrant.
Murray Todd, general manager at Sandman Signature Aberdeen Hotel, commented: “We want to do everything we can to ensure that our guests have the very best night’s sleep and that starts with the comfort of their mattress.
“Glencraft is a fantastic organisation which creates bespoke luxury products and we are very pleased to be working so closely with a company based here in Aberdeen. Guests of the hotel will be the only ones to experience these unique mattresses which are sure to send them off to the land of nod.”
Glencraft is producing 258 unique mattresses for Sandman Signature Aberdeen Hotel in addition to bedframes for the 218 guest rooms that the hotel will offer. The partnership has allowed the organisation to increase staff time from three to four days per week.

Once open, Sandman Signature Aberdeen Hotel will boast 218 guest rooms and suites, a stunning lobby area and conference facilities. The hotel is owned and operated by Canada-based Northland Properties, a family business which prides itself on providing the best comfort and service to guests, with over 50 years of hospitality experience.
