Children may soon have the chance to dive with sharks, jump inside a volcano, explore an energy plant or hold a human heart at Aberdeen Science Centre, as part of plans to bring virtual reality (VR) technology to the exhibition floor!

Aberdeen Science Centre is inviting potential investors to attend a pitch event as it seeks to gather support to introduce VR experiences as part of its interactive STEM learning offering.

The event, which will take place on Thursday, September 5 from 10.30am to 12.30pm at the Science Centre, will allow guests to discover more about the possibilities of using VR in education and development at a ‘Dragons’ Den’-style pitch and information session.

Attendees will hear from the Aberdeen Science Centre team, who will provide information on how the technology will be introduced and used in the centre, before being invited to invest in the project to support its delivery.

The wide variety of VR content available will make this opportunity an attractive CSR investment project for several industries including energy, space, life sciences, innovation, sports, culture and more.

Businesses also have the chance to work with Aberdeen Science Centre and AVC Immedia to create a bespoke VR experience tailored to a specific industry.

As a local educational charity, Aberdeen Science Centre relies on the support of businesses to continue its daily operations, keep its content fresh and exciting for its visitors and to provide as many opportunities as possible to inspire the next generation of scientists, engineers and innovators.
