Aberdeen Inspired set to launch fifth Aberdeen Restaurant Week

Aberdeen Restaurant Week is returning to the city next week to add some flavour to February. Organisers Aberdeen Inspired have revealed the tantalising line-up for 2020 which sees familiar favourites returning and new names joining the initiative with a record number of restaurants participating.

La Lombarda, Las Iguanas, The Tippling House, The Globe Inn and Melt are some tempting new additions, while Food Story, Thaikhun, Molly’s Bistro and The Spiritualist are once again taking part in the event, alongside a wide range of other restaurants.

For those looking to try something new, there will be a variety of cookery classes that range from learning how to make delicious handcrafted pasta dishes at PASTA at Aberdeen Indoor Market to Latin revelations at Revolucion De Cuba, Thai sensations at Chaophraya and tasty tapas dishes at Namaste Delhi.

Grampian Escapes & Tours Ltd have partnered with Aberdeen Restaurant Week to introduce exciting new street food tours which will run throughout the week. There are plenty of food temptations to be discovered in Aberdeen city centre, so why not try a few on a flavourful whistle-stop tour.

Aberdeen Restaurant Week will take over the city between Monday, February 24 and Friday, March 1 and has much to offer, whether you wish to try new eateries, visit an old favourite, take a cookery class or experience the new food tours.

Enjoy all the week has to offer without breaking the bank as participating restaurants will offer a special menu at a set price. These include a two-course lunch for £10 and a three-course evening meal for £20. Afternoon tea and tasting menus are priced separately.

Kate Timperley, Aberdeen Inspired senior project manager has said: “Our aim with the event is to encourage everyone to become tourists in the city centre and enjoy everything it has to offer. It is all about supporting our local businesses, sampling different food and enjoying the vibrant nightlife we are proud to promote in Aberdeen. In what has fast become a firm favourite with foodies, the event has helped boost Aberdeen’s nighttime economy at a predominantly quiet time of the year. Previous Restaurant Weeks have been received well by the public and participating restaurants alike, and we’re looking forward to more of the same when it returns this month, with a record of over 45 restaurants involved.”

Nadine Carmichael, the head of sales and marketing at DRG said “We are thrilled that several of our venues including Amarone and Cafe Andaluz are again participating in Aberdeen Restaurant Week. We want to showcase the best of Italian and Spanish cuisine to the community (minus the cost of the flight!) and the exposure our brands get during this fantastic event opens our business up to customers, new and old. We wish everyone taking part the best of success and to our customers, welcome back.”
