Aberdeen-Houston gateway reveals exciting speakers

The popular annual Aberdeen-Houston Gateway event has announced an exciting line-up of speakers and contributors from both sides of the Atlantic.

The business showcase event links two of the world’s leading energy hubs and aims to help companies seeking to grow their global footprint or increase international collaboration.

It will once again offer a valuable platform for bringing together expertise from both sides of the Atlantic for a variety of networking and knowledge sharing opportunities.

Once again a group of Houston business representatives will make the trip to Scotland for the event and this year’s inbound delegation of Houston business representatives will be led by the British Consul General in Houston, Karen Bell.

A key highlight of a busy week of one-to-one meetings, tours and events will be the Aberdeen-Houston Gateway flagship lunch at Macdonald Norwood Hall on Tuesday, March 22 when delegates will hear from a variety of businesses with experience in both the UK and U.S. markets. They will include leading provider of electrical products and services AEL; Aberdeen-based heat transfer and mechanical separation specialists Centrifuges Un-Limited; technology firm Spartan Solutions Ltd and Paradigm Flow Services which develops ground-breaking, field proven technology for the energy industry. In addition will be contributions from:

  • Katy Area Economic Development Council
  • Texas Global Business Network
  • PKF/Johnston Carmichael
  • HM Consul General, Karen Bell
  • Aberdeen City Council
  • Aberdeenshire Council
  • Greater Houston Partnership

Chairing the event will be Texas businessman Travis Middleton of TradeMark Insurance Agency LLC and Texas Global Business Network who commented:

“As the first Texas Chair of Granite PR’s annual Aberdeen-Houston Gateway in Aberdeen, I am excited at the prospect of being involved with such a diverse and dynamic group of presenters.

“The traction and synergy continues to grow as the Gateway brings together successful companies working internationally between Aberdeen and Houston. Despite diverse economies the logistics of working together remains very strong and positive.”

Aberdeen-Houston Gateway creator and Granite PR founder and managing director Brett Jackson added: “Aberdeen and Houston both have firm reputations as entrepreneurial cities where, for those with the right drive and focus, anything is possible. The special relationship between our cities stands strong and makes creating or growing business easier than other more complex markets – and this is continuing to attract businesses.

“As plans for the fourth annual Aberdeen-Houston Gateway gather momentum, it is exciting to play a part in showcasing these transatlantic achievements.”
