A well-known annual business showcase linking two of the world’s leading energy hubs will take its message to Aberdeenshire thanks to a brand new event which will take place next week.
During the past four years, the popular Aberdeen-Houston Gateway has carved a strong reputation for providing a valuable springboard to assist companies in both locations seeking to grow their global footprint or increase international collaboration to drive business growth.
Once again a group of Houston business representatives will make the trip to Scotland for the event and this year’s inbound delegation of Houston business representatives will be led by HM Consul General in Houston, Karen Bell. A highlight of the week will be a flagship lunch at Aberdeen’s Macdonald Norwood Hall Hotel.
Now, the Aberdeen-Houston Gateway is preparing to offer further opportunities for business exploration and networking on both sides of the Atlantic thanks to the launch of the “Shire Showcase” which will run at Macdonald Pittodrie House Hotel near Inverurie on Wednesday, March 23.
The lunchtime event will feature presentations by companies from across the region including ACE Winches, BlueSky Business Space, Energetica as well as Aberdeenshire Council.
Commenting on the launch of the “Shire Showcase,” Aberdeenshire Provost Hamish Vernal said: “I’m delighted that the Aberdeen-Houston Gateway event is being expanded to embrace the wider region, in particular providing a showcase in Aberdeenshire.
“We have a lot to offer in Aberdeenshire, a thriving and diverse economy which is built on the traditional industries of fishing, agriculture and tourism, having built on the exceptional opportunities afforded to us through oil and gas. I know that delegates will enjoy a very warm welcome to Aberdeenshire and have an opportunity to see the variety of what we have to offer.”
Granite PR founder and managing director, and Aberdeen-Houston Gateway creator Brett Jackson added: “We are delighted to be able to bring the ethos of this event to a wider audience than ever before and we very much look forward to shining the spotlight on some of the exciting businesses which operate from the Aberdeenshire area.”
