Council tax in Aberdeen is set to rocket by almost 10% as one of a string of key budget decisions to be made in a meeting later today.
Unusually, the local authority has revealed report papers ahead of the meeting, in which the council will formally decide its spending plans for 2025/26.
The papers, The Press and Journal reports, preview a 9.85% council tax hike - translating to an extra £13million - as the administration bids to close an £18million hole in its finances.
Parking charges are also likely to be driven up by 5%, coupled with reduced free parking hours.
And the opening hours of the recently renovated Provost Skene's House and Tolbooth Museum are also set to be cut.
Meanwhile the £54million Berryden Corridor roadworks project, which had been put on ice in last year's budget, is set to be revived.
It comes after Aberdeenshire Council announced a similar 10% council tax increase last week.
