Aberdeen’s young orchestra students are making their final preparations for their free annual concert.
The Aberdeen City Music School will be performing at the Music Hall on Saturday, March 7 from 5pm onwards. The concert is always a highlight of the students’ year and with the programme just finalised, practice and rehearsals are taking place to ensure a wonderful evening’s musical entertainment.
Sonia Scaife, director of the Music School, said, “We are delighted to return to the Music Hall this spring and hoping to once again have an audience of over 1000! This year’s programme has everything from musical theatre and popular music to jazz, Scottish traditional to classical – something for everyone and for all ages too”.
Education and Children Services Convenor, councillor John Wheeler, said, “The Music School’s annual concert is always a major event in Aberdeen’s musical calendar.
“This year’s event sees the students back at the wonderful revamped Music Hall and promises to maintain the excellent standards that audiences have come to enjoy over the years. I’m sure the eclectic mix of genres will appeal to young and old alike”.
