Julie Wood has been appointed chief officer of city development and regeneration at Aberdeen City Council.
She will lead the delivery and development of the Council’s economic development, culture and events programme and will work with a range of strategic stakeholders to secure the economic success of Aberdeen.
Her role is critical to city development representing the Council and Aberdeen locally, regionally, nationally, and internationally, supporting inward investment and the promotion of the city as a competitive business location.
Julie said: “I am delighted to be taking on this role at what is such a pivotal time for our city as we deliver a Just Transition to Net Zero. I am looking forward to working with partners across all sectors and the fantastic team within Aberdeen City Council to create more opportunities and benefits for Aberdeen.”
Julie Wood brings over a decade of invaluable experience in economic development to this role. Prior to her appointment as chief officer of city development and regeneration, Julie served in various leadership positions including, interim chief officer city growth and programme manager of the Aberdeen City Region Deal.
