The boss behind trusted marketing powerhouse Prospect 13, based in Aberdeen, has marked a significant milestone in her corporate journey by scooping a prestigious business award.
During a glittering ceremony at the city’s Chester Hotel, Prospect 13 founder and CEO Cerri McDonald was named winner of the PR, Marketing and Communications category of the BWC Aberdeen Athena Awards 2024.
With more than 20 years’ experience, Cerri founded Prospect 13 in 2018 following redundancy from the energy industry.
Originally, her strategy was to replace income lost with self-employed work but, just three months in, she had to rip up the business plan as she prepared to hire her first member of staff and sign a lease on office accommodation.
Since then, the now 10-strong company has forged an enviable reputation as a leading agency dedicated to supporting clients with results-driven strategies to unleash marketing potential.
Delivering big agency results with personal, boutique agency services, Prospect 13 was the first in the Scottish marketing sector to introduce innovative subscription-based support packages.
The BWC Aberdeen Athena Awards are hailed as “a celebration of the incredible women entrepreneurs and leaders who are making a significant impact in the business community of Aberdeen”.
They seek to recognise, acknowledge and celebrate accomplishments and inspire others.
Commenting on the win, Cerri McDonald said: “The main drivers behind the creation of Prospect 13 were to bring something different to the market whilst reinvigorating my own passion for bold, creative marketing and communications.
“Winning this award provides important recognition of those ambitions and I hope it will inspire others to embrace what’s possible, despite the challenges of situations such as redundancy.
"With the right support from the right people, it is possible to achieve your goals, and I am enormously grateful to those who continue to support my vision.”
