Childline founder Dame Esther Ranzten, Childline UK director John Cameron and Childline service manager for Aberdeen Adeniyi Alade were welcomed to the early evening reception by Bill Rattray and Claire Drummond of Aberdeen Asset Management.
Dame Esther visited Aberdeen as part of a nationwide tour to mark Childline’s 30th birthday when she met volunteers and fundraisers. Aberdeen Asset Management recently donated £15,000 from its Charitable Foundation to expand the NSPCC Scotland’s Schools Service in Aberdeen.
The company was thanked for its support and told that the service, like Childline itself, will help make a difference to children’s lives. Esther also encouraged people to consider volunteering time to the service.
Dominic Kite of Aberdeen Asset Management said: “We were delighted that Dame Esther Rantzen came to Aberdeen Asset Management’s offices during her visit to the city.
“With Childline marking its 30th anniversary this year, it was good to meet its founder and learn at first-hand about the service and other vital work the NSPCC does to help children and young people.”
