AAB’s tax expertise attracts Chinese taxation bureau

Anderson Anderson & Brown LLP (AAB), one of the leading independent firms of Chartered Accountants in Scotland, has hosted a presentation to a 24-strong delegation from Liaoning Local Taxation Bureau in China.

Organised by Sino-Bridge International (SBI), whose parent company is based in Beijing, the Bureau are visiting the UK on a training mission, and their trip to AAB’s offices had the purpose of fulfilling one of their main training objectives, to learn about the UK taxation system and its management, and in particular, corporate taxation for large businesses.

Valeria Ji, Training Executive of SBI commented “We approached AAB because of their reputation as a leading accountancy firm in the UK and the specialist expertise they are able to offer their clients. In particular, we were impressed by AAB’s experience in providing tax advice on complex and varied matters to large corporate businesses. SBI were delighted that the delegates from Liaoning Local Taxation Bureau were able to visit AAB and learn from the firm’s best practices.”

Kevin Mann, International Tax Partner at AAB who presented at the event said “We were flattered to be asked by SBI to present on UK specific tax matters to the Liaoning tax delegation. SBI recognised that the knowledge and experience we possess in-house is second to none, and we were delighted to be able to share some of that knowledge with the delegates. An unexpected advantage was that we were also able to discuss, with the delegates, specific developments in both Liaoning and China. Given that a number of our clients are already working in or are considering expanding into China, this opportunity gave us invaluable insight into current working practices in the country, meaning that our meeting was of mutual benefit for both AAB and the Liaoning delegation.”
