Transport for London have now made paying for Underground, rail and bus journeys in London simpler than ever.
Contactless payment cards are now accepted across their network in London. This means that customers can simply tap their contactless bank card at the station gate or on boarding the bus, without the need to buy an Oyster card or paper ticket. Fares are the same as for Oyster, making it ideal for occasional business visitors to London.
Using contactless payment is gaining in popularity by the day. Over 180 million journeys have been made using this in London and there are over 52 million contactless cards in circulation across the country.
By the end of the year, approximately one in two cardholders will have at least one contactless card; many already have one ready to use.
