Scotland’s Employer Recruitment Incentive (SERI) is a scheme being run by Skills Development Scotland and administered by Aberdeen City Council. It is aimed at helping unemployed young people who are facing significant challenges. The aim is to encourage employers to recruit young people aged 16-29 into sustainable employment, including Modern Apprenticeships.
Employers can receive a maximum grant of £4,463 when employing a young person for minimum of one year.
Aberdeen City Council has been running the scheme since July 2015 and is receiving a large level of response from local companies across the city who want to play their part in recruiting a young workforce. There are currently around 30 places remaining, so now is the time to get in contact to secure your space on this exciting scheme.
The process is quick and painless, and you can receive your first funding payment within days of contacting the SERI team. They are also on hand to help with the application procedure, and can even help match local companies with young employees to get them started.
