Aberdeen FC is delighted to announce the appointment of Peter Walker as the new general manager (stadium hospitality and events) of Pittodrie Stadium.

With decades of experience in the hospitality industry across several prestige venues, Peter will now lead a new era at the home of the Dons.

“Across the last few seasons, and in collaboration with several valued partners, we have spent considerable time and effort to improve the look and feel of many of the suites and lounges we have here at Pittodrie,” commercial director Robbie Hedderman said.

“We are still very much on that journey and have exciting plans for the future, both inside and outside the ground, as we look to solidify our home as one of the most unique, historic and evocative venues in the North-east of Scotland.

“We have extremely ambitious plans to grow this side of the club. We have seen record numbers enjoy our matchday hospitality, playing in front of completely sold-out lounges of over 1,000 diners, for the last 12 consecutive home league games.

“However, Pittodrie is a venue for more than just a Saturday afternoon. Whether it’s for conferences, events, functions or parties, we have so much to offer, seven days of the week, and we have brought Peter in to lead us and take our offering to the next level.

“Peter’s experience, talent, local knowledge and dedication will be vital for our growth across the months and years ahead.”

The life-long Dandy, who was most recently the general manager at the Marcliffe Hotel and Spa, has enjoyed an outstanding career. He was also GM of Fonab Castle Hotel and Spa in Perthshire and spent over five years at Maryculter House in Aberdeen.

His career also includes successful tenures at both Ardoe House and Meldrum Country House Hotel & Golf Club.

Peter added: “I am delighted to have joined the team at Aberdeen FC and be part of this exciting journey to enhance and evolve the hospitality and events offering.

“Aberdeen is a club not only filled with ambition on the pitch, but off it too.

“Being born and brought up in the region, as well as being a life-long fan, I really understand the love and community spirit there is for the club. We will embrace and further embed that community spirit into hospitality and events, as we evolve this traditional and historical stadium into a regional-leading multi-purpose venue.”
