A new housing development in Aberdeen will create almost 200 local jobs, says housebuilder Persimmon Homes.

£92million worth of investment will be spent between the firms Strabathie site and the former AECC site in Bridge of Don.

Persimmon has just broken ground at its Strabathie Village development in the Blackdog area of the city, where 120 new homes will be built.

North managing director James MacKay said: “We expect there’ll be about 80 jobs created by Strabathie.

“On our other site, which is currently going through planning we anticipate that’ll create 125 jobs."

As well as creating new jobs, the firm is looking to work with local companies for its development.
