3t, the global safety-critical training and digital learning powerhouse, has announced the appointment of Jamie Purves as its new managing director for its managed services division amidst significant international expansion.
Over the past eight years, 3t’s managed services has built a reputation as a trusted partner in training and competency management for leading organisations in oil and gas, renewables, marine, utilities, and the public sector.
Purves joins managed services from his previous role as general manager of several of 3t’s UK training centers including Aberdeen, Newcastle and Manchester.
He brings over 20 years’ experience in the training sector and a proven track record in onshore and offshore energy markets. Purves has previously worked in the UK, Philippines, Canada, Nigeria, and Egypt, equipping him with deep insight into regional dynamics and global growth strategies.
Based at 3t’s headquarters in Aberdeen, he will focus on expanding 3t’s global footprint while enhancing workforce upskilling to meet national and industry objectives. This remit falls into 3t’s recent global acquisitions of GTSC, the largest energy training provider in the Middle East and ALL STOP!, a leading safety-critical training business in the US.
Talking about his appointment, Jamie Purves said: "I am thrilled to be taking on this new role as managing director for managed services and utilising my skillset to drive even greater value and innovative solutions for our clients worldwide.
“Having initially started my career at 3t splitting my time between operations and managed services, I have a strong foundation in the organisation and great pre-existing relationships with our global partners.
“I am now looking forward to being able to give my full focus to these valued connections and forging new relationships in key growing markets.
“I am excited to work even more closely with our talented team to identify these new opportunities, enhance our digital capabilities, and ensure we continue to provide exceptional service to our growing client base."
Kevin Franklin, CEO of 3t, said: "Our managed services offering has been a core part of 3t's success in the UK, and we are eager to build on that foundation to deliver cost-effective solutions to bridge the gap between multinational operations and regional targets.
“Our recent acquisitions in the Middle East and the US, give the organisation a presence in strategic hotspots across key markets to expand our offering to more organisations globally.
"The depth of expertise and customer-centric approach within our managed services team is already primed to achieve this through meeting the diverse training needs of our partners and exceeding expectations by consistently delivering tangible and measurable benefits to compliance and safety performance.”
