3t Drilling Systems, the global leader in drilling and offshore lifting simulation technology, has entered into a transformative partnership with PNI Training Centre AS to deliver its state-of-the-art KraneSIM:6000 simulator.

This collaboration will position 3t’s innovative technology at the core of PNI’s offshore crane and lifting training programmes, driving modernisation and raising training standards in Norway and beyond.

One of Stavanger’s premier training centres is enhancing its offerings through this partnership with 3t Drilling Systems, bringing cutting-edge simulation technology to the forefront of offshore training excellence.

PNI Training Centre AS has partnered with 3t Drilling Systems to integrate the advanced KraneSIM:6000, a full-scale crane simulator designed to deliver immersive training experiences.

Fully customisable to accommodate a wide variety of crane types, offshore installations, and lifting operations, the KraneSIM:6000 will be utilised for the training and assessment of offshore crane operators and deck crews, meeting both national and international standards.

This initiative represents a major upgrade to PNI’s existing infrastructure, with the collaboration introducing an array of new simulation features to enhance the KraneSIM’s capabilities.

Situated in Stavanger, Norway’s oil and gas hub, PNI Training Centre AS provides a comprehensive range of training courses, supporting offshore energy and marine operations both regionally and internationally.

In its search for a new technology partner, PNI Training Centre AS thoroughly evaluated multiple simulation providers but selected 3t Drilling Systems for its outstanding industry reputation, innovative technology, and strong endorsement from a trusted organisation. This decision reflects 3t’s proven capability to deliver superior, industry-compliant solutions tailored to the evolving needs of training providers.

The KraneSIM:6000, fully certified to the highest DNV standards, will enable PNI Training Centre AS to elevate its crane and lifting training programs, providing candidates with state-of-the-art tools for skill development. The simulator is scheduled for delivery in 2025.

Max Wyndham, head of business development at 3t Drilling Systems, commented: “We are honoured to partner with PNI Training Centre, a highly respected name in Norway’s offshore training sector.

"The KraneSIM:6000 was chosen for its ability to replicate both generic and asset-specific crane operations, with the flexibility to customise training for any offshore asset.

"Once the KraneSIM:6000 is operational, we are confident that trainees will experience an immediate and significant enhancement in the technology used for their assessments. This agreement not only strengthens our established user community in Norway but also opens new opportunities for us to support the country’s offshore sector.”
