The inaugural Archie Foundation Corporate Golf Day which took place on October 1, 2021 at Trump International Scotland raised £12 000 for the charity.
Thanks to Tendeka and Alan Rutherford Wealth Management for their sponsorship of the event and to Kings Links Golf Centre, Paul Lawrie and Kuehne & Nagel for donating prizes.
The Archie Foundation exists to make the difference for children and their families accessing local NHS healthcare and in bereavement. By working with NHS colleagues and child development and childcare professionals, Archie provides a lifeline of support and services across Aberdeen, Aberdeenshire, Moray, the Highlands and Tayside.
This includes funding and managing parent accommodation at the Royal Aberdeen Children’s Hospital to help keep families together through a crisis; providing emergency financial grants to help families who are struggling with unexpected hospital visits or stays; employing specialist care providers where they are needed the most; and creating child-friendly environments and facilities across our local hospitals.
Alan Pearson, chief financial officer at Tendeka chaired the organising committee. He said: “This was a fantastic amount to raise for our first event and will allow The Archie Foundation to continue to make a real difference in the lives of local children and families. In the current climate support is needed more than ever and all of us would like to thank everyone who sponsored the event, and took part, we are already looking forward to next year.”
Lynne Brooks, Archie's gifts and donations officer, said: “Thank you to everyone involved and to all the teams who took part your support will truly help to make a difference to children and their families when they need it most.”
Next years event will be held at Trump International on May 13, 2022. Anyone interested in booking a team or sponsorship opportunities should email hello@archie.org
