The Foyer is a successful charitable organisation and social enterprise working to prevent and alleviate youth homelessness and unemployment in the North East of Scotland.
The Foyer makes a notable impact working to support and strengthen communities in the North East, addressing causes and consequences of poverty and inequality. In Aberdeen and Aberdeenshire people have improved education, health, skills and quality of life. The Foyer has enabled people to work and realise their potential. The Foyer makes a difference.
We provide accommodation with support to former homeless and at risk young people. We deliver linked up services to people of all ages - education, training, mentoring, counselling, employment support and health improvement initiatives. We help people build confidence and develop their skills and talents to make major changes in their lives.
The Foyer’s approach recognises that tackling homelessness and disadvantage is not just a matter of providing a home, but necessitates addressing the underlying causes and critically providing people with the means of gaining and sustaining employment.
We work to open opportunities and create the appropriate environment for individuals to develop their talents. People can select from a range of services to build a personalised package of support and training specific to their needs and goals, leading to the best possible results and real and lasting change in their lives.
Integral to the Foyer are our businesses: Foyer Graphics (foyergraphics.com), Roadwise Driver Training (roadwisedrivertraining.co.uk) and Foyer Works (property maintenance).
The businesses provide valuable income to support the Foyer, raise the profile of the organisation in the wider community and provide an invaluable employment, work experience and training opportunities for those with whom we work.
