You might never have had cause to think about this before, but did you know that approximately 10% of all industrial electricity consumed in Europe is used to generate air? Globally, around 70% of all companies use compressed air in their operations. At any one time there are (approximately) five million industrial air compressors installed around the world and they are all generating Carbon Dioxide (CO2) emissions.
At MB Air Systems it is our job to know this. It is our mission to deliver products and services that not only reduce electricity consumption but do so without impacting operational integrity while still reducing costs and environmental impact.
The industries we support are under increasing pressure to improve sustainability and reduce emissions. When you consider that traditional compressors are susceptible to the loss of significant electricity consumed to heat and friction (some industry reports suggest that only 12-15% of consumed electricity in the compressing process is used for compressing air), better technologies and innovative service solutions are essential.
As an Ingersoll Rand company, we are committed to a dynamic ‘Grow Sustainably’ strategy, the first pillar of which is ‘Delivering More, Using Less’. But what exactly does this mean?
Well, let’s start at the very beginning. By cutting emissions in its production processes by 60%, seven years ahead of target, Ingersoll Rand is helping its product users - MB Air Systems clients’ - reduce their environmental impact as part of the wider value chain. In turn, Ingersoll Rand products are specifically designed to tackle the dual challenges created by electricity consumption – cost and environmental impact. They reduce the amount of electricity consumed while delivering equal or greater flow or performance. Not only does this create financial efficiencies for our clients, but also reduces their emissions, helping them deliver on their Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) goals.
At MB Air Systems we complement this by proactively working to deliver sustainability, efficacy, and help eliminate waste by extending the useful life of equipment and facilitating component reuse and recycling. We do this through the ongoing expert maintenance of equipment, site audits, leak detection and energy analysis surveys.
We are proud to be an Ingersoll Rand company, an organisation that’s operations, products, and services align with the 17 United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). A business that was recognised in 2023 for its industry-leading sustainability efforts, by both the Dow Jones Sustainability World Index (DJSI World) and the Dow Jones Sustainability North America Index (DJSI North America). We are equally proud to be delivering and contributing to a more sustainable future locally.
