Mearns & Gill, Aberdeen's longest-serving creative marketing agency, have announced the launch of its new "carbon neutral events" service.

This offering will enable the agency's event clients to offset the carbon emissions associated with their events and reduce their environmental footprint.

Through a partnership with local carbon accounting experts carbon-zero, Mearns & Gill will perform a comprehensive carbon assessment for each event, taking into account all relevant elements and data from venues, collaborators, and suppliers.

Clients will receive a detailed report summarising the event's carbon emissions, along with the opportunity to purchase carbon credits to offset those emissions. Each credit offsets one tonne of carbon by supporting verified carbon reduction projects in developing countries.

"As event managers, we have an ethical responsibility to prioritise sustainability and minimise the environmental impact of the events we plan and execute," said Sarah Young, Event Manager and Sustainability Co-ordinator. "Our carbon neutral events service makes it simple for clients to take meaningful climate action while still delivering engaging, memorable event experiences."

The carbon offset projects supported by the programme will vary based on availability at the time of purchase, but all adhere to UNFCC methodologies and are registered on the Gold Standard or Verified Carbon Standard. carbon-Zero will provide clients with specific project options to review and select on an event-by-event basis.
