EPIT Group, a leading provider of specialized training and consultancy services in the fields of hazardous area safety and explosion protection, proudly announces the launch of its Hydrogen Safety & Explosion Protection Awareness course. This two-day training course, taking place at EPIT's bespoke training facility in Aberdeen, is designed to help those working to realize hydrogen's potential as a low carbon energy vector, to do so safely. Developed in collaboration with industry partners, this course ensures comprehensive and up-to-date content.

With more novel and innovative applications for hydrogen anticipated as the UK makes progress towards its 2050 net zero deadline, individuals and workplaces need to be kept safe from new risks, whilst not forgetting those that existed before. A fundamental understanding of hydrogen's physical properties and key behaviors will be key to safely developing and deploying it as a net zero energy vector, and EPIT Group is addressing the need for a baseline level of knowledge with the launch of a new hydrogen safety course.

The hydrogen safety course is designed to give an introduction to hydrogen energy and the hazardous area concepts for the use of electrical and non-electrical equipment where hydrogen gas is present. The course explains the applications for hydrogen, the different types of hydrogen, and the dangers of hydrogen.

EPIT Group invites industry professionals to enroll in this essential hydrogen safety training and join the movement towards a safer, more sustainable energy future.

Martin Constable, Operations Director of EPIT Group, said: "A recent study by Hydrogen UK projects that the UK's hydrogen sector will support 64,000 British jobs by 2030. A significant portion of these jobs will be in hydrogen production, accounting for 8,500 direct jobs. These opportunities are expected to be distributed across the UK, benefiting industrial clusters and regions like Scotland and Tees Valley. Furthermore, the hydrogen sector presents a chance for the transition of hundreds of thousands of oil and gas jobs to sustainable, low-carbon alternatives, indicating a broader trend of growth and numerous job opportunities for industry professionals in the coming years.

With over 20 years of experience in providing successful training and certification programs across various industries, including oil and gas and renewables, EPIT is perfectly positioned to support the new labor force required for the hydrogen sector with relevant and comprehensive training."
