Zero Waste Scotland has launched the Energy Efficiency Business Support Service dedicated to helping Scottish businesses reduce their energy bills and play their part in addressing climate change. The service is funded by the Scottish Government and European Regional Development Fund (ERDF).
Scottish businesses seeking support can access the new service at energy.zerowastescotland.org.uk. The Energy Efficiency Business Support Service will encourage and support small-to-medium sized businesses to invest in building fabric and renewables measures.
This new structure of support will replace Zero Waste Scotland’s Resource Efficient Scotland programme and focus on reduction of energy consumption. Resource Efficient Scotland was a programme by Zero Waste Scotland, launched in 2013. Scottish businesses can still get help to reduce their waste, raw material and water use by visiting www.zerowastescotland.org.uk.
Businesses will continue to receive the same professional service, friendly advisors and specialist support. We will continue to provide free, impartial advice, one-to-one support and specialist training. The unsecured, interest-free SME Loan from Scottish Government will continue to help Scottish SMEs reduce their energy bills, be more resource efficient, lower carbon emissions and grow greener businesses.
The Energy Efficient Business Service is part of Zero Waste Scotland’s Resource Efficient Circular Economy Accelerator Programme, which will invest £73m in circular economy and resource efficiency projects, thanks to support from the European Regional Development Fund.
