Circular North-east ambassadors
Circular North-east is seeking ambassadors to help raise awareness of the circular economy and direct companies with innovative ideas or a desire to investigate the circular economy further to the Circular North-east programme.
What is Circular North-east?
Circular North-east is a programme run from Aberdeen & Grampian Chamber of Commerce that aims to support the move towards a circular economy by helping companies exploit the opportunities through information, support and funding.
What is the Circular Economy?
In a circular economy waste is a valuable resource that can be regenerated, recovered and reused, adding value to both businesses and the local community. It is an alternative to a traditional linear (make, use, dispose) economy. Resources are kept in use for as long as possible, then recovered or used to generate new products and materials at the end of their useful life.
What support is available?
The chamber runs events and workshops to build awareness of the opportunities and help businesses develop ideas and access funding. This includes one to one consultancy support and grant funding for small to medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) or consortium including an SME.
What is the role of an Ambassador?
- To help promote an understanding of the circular economy
- Promote the Circular North-east programme and encourage interest and participation through attendance at events, signing up to the Newsletter or meeting with the Circular North-east project manager.
- Direct companies with ideas to funding via the Circular North-east project manager.
- Have the option of promoting the role of ambassador through use of a logo which will be supplied and attending an annual networking event.
This would all be undertaken as part of day to day activities and it is not envisaged any additional time or resource will be required apart from the option of attending events.
